Pest & disease management – are you prepared? Industry field day, Virginia, SA
Hear from Dr Doris Blaesing (Soil Wealth ICP); Maddy Quirk, Shakira Johnson and Zarmeen Hassan (AUSVEG); Cathryn Todd and Rebecca Hamdorf (PIRSA-SARDI); Michelle Carr (PIRSA); Sylvia Jelinek (NSW LLS); and John Fletcher (Consultant) on improving plant health for vegetable growers and agronomists.
The session will provide vital practical guidance on pest and disease monitoring and diagnostics, including the benefits of an integrated management approach. Key topics will include viral, bacterial, and fungal disease management; western flower thrips; tomato potato psyllid surveillance program; and serpentine leafminer. The session will also include an iMapPESTS sentinel demonstration, sample collection techniques, and a farm walk.
This event will be held face to face on Thursday 25 March in Virginia, South Australia.
Location: Sneaky’s Restaurant, 143 Heaslip Road, Angle Vale 5117. This will be followed by a field visit to Thorndon Park Produce – 922 Gawler River Road, Gawler River, SA 5118.
